Reconnecting with our Source -The Sahyadris, A Dialogue Initiative Exhibition to Schools and Colleges
The Sahyadri Samvada Mobile Exhibition, a crucial initiative in the face of the current climate emergency, encourages open and inclusive conversations, especially among the youth. The exhibition, with its focus on the magnificent Sahyadri mountain range, serves as a microcosm of the global environmental challenges that are integral to our lives. Through art, photography, and research knowledge, the exhibition creates a platform for meaningful conversations to inspire solutions that promote a deeper understanding of the impact of human actions on the environment.
The exhibition is not just about raising awareness but also about inspiring collective action. It aims to empower the younger generation to become catalysts for change, raising awareness about the natural world and amplifying their voices to conserve it. These conversations can expand collective consciousness and inspire collective action, making everyone feel part of a more significant movement for environmental conservation.
This mobile exhibition is expected to engage as many students and other community members as possible. This ongoing interactive exhibition has already conducted 80 interactive exhibition events in Sagara, Hosanagara, Soraba, and Sirsi talukas in the academic year 2023-24. It targets the revival and activation of Eco-clubs in government and private schools and colleges that require revival post-COVID. The mobile exhibitions aim to arouse curiosity and encourage creative expression among children. This exercise is expected to consolidate thoughts about environmental degradation and inspire individuals to take action.
Furthermore, the exhibition is expected to attract community stakeholders to take the dialogue further and develop actionable solutions to the health of the Sahyadris.
