A workshop with stories and images 14-21, 2023
-Curated by Ms Shubhani Sharma
Throughout human history, stories have played a vital role in shaping our understanding of ourselves, others, and the world we inhabit. They have served as powerful tools for communicating complex emotions and ideas in a memorable and accessible manner. Through storytelling, we can forge deep connections with nature and our past, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting sustainability.
India, with its rich cultural heritage influenced by the teachings of all religions and parallelly the local folk heritages, strongly emphasizes the interdependence of all living beings and encourages compassion and nonviolence. In today’s global environmental crisis, these religious teachings serve as a guiding light, illuminating a path towards cultivating a more compassionate consciousness towards all living beings. By sharing stories about our relationship with nature and our responsibility to protect it, we can inspire empathy, encourage action, and build a community around environmental issues.
The power of stories and storytelling to create a more inclusive, empathetic, and sustainable world cannot be overemphasized. Sharing our collective experiences can foster a deeper understanding of our responsibility to protect and cherish our planet.
