‘Each One Plant One’ this project aimed to involve the local school children to own the responsibility of growing and nurturing plants and trees around their surroundings. It was also to raise awareness at the primary level of the relevance of bio-diversity. More than 1200 students and teachers from 22 schools were engaged in planting various plant species around the school campuses and surrounding environs. Students were encouraged to take ownership of at least one plant and care of them. In all, over 2000 plants were distributed through this initiative. Every year, SARA Centre raises more than 10,000 plants of many fruits and local endemic plant species in its nursery and encourages people to plant them.

‘ಮಗುವಿಗೊಂದು ಗಿಡ’ ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಯು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಶಾಲಾ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ಗಿಡಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಪೋಷಿಸುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಲು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಗುರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಜೈವ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದು ಸಹ ಆಗಿತ್ತು. ಸುಮಾರು 22 ಶಾಲೆಗಳ 1200 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು ಶಾಲಾ ಆವರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಸಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭೇದಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಿದ್ದರು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಒಂದು ಗಿಡವನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅದರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆಯಾಗಿ, ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮೂಲಕ 2000 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಸಾರ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ತನ್ನ ನರ್ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಹಾಗು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಸಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭೇದಗಳ 10,000 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಡಲು ಜನರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
